“How to Encourage English Department Students to Speak English More Often and Confidently”

Thesis:

English is one of the important aspects you must have. Especially if you are a student in English Department. You have to speak English fluently and confidently. You can try it with encourage yourself to speak English more often and confidently.

Argument 1:

Speaking English allows you to actually broaden your world, from job opportunities to the ability to relate to people from every country. It can be a value-addes to you when you apply for a job.

Argument 2:

English is an international language, the main language of this planet. It is the language of our international communication in all areas, such as politics, science, media or art and it is often the language of the intertaiment as well as socialising.

Recommendation:

Considering some facts above, let me give you some ways to encourage English Department Students to speak more often and confidently:

1. Start with believing in yourself. Do not be afraid to make a mistake. You can think “if so many people can, even I can”.
2. Keep calm and do not worry about grammar. Remember, even those who speak English fluently make grammatical mistakes. But, what they do right, is communicate without worrying about them.
3. In the class, the lecturer can make a free discussion at the beginning of lecture in everyday. In that time the students must speak in English.
4. The lecturer can give the students an assignment to make conversation in English with their partner in everyday.
5. For the lecturer, command the students always use English during lecture.

SILATDA IMMawati have a purpose to unite the voice of IMMawati in Central Java, about the movement and IMMawati goals in IMM, so in Central Java IMMawati is clear about herself, and their work in IMM exists. Indirectly, SILATDA IMMawati also gives a braver to IMMawati in here to be more confident to express her aspirations, unlike the backward.

“For the preparation, we have been prepared since 2 months ago. There are obstacles that we encountered as there are still many participants who have not been present, need extra ordinary to be able to unite IMMawati in Central Java because the distance is far and need much time. We have been tried optimally to contact each branch of IMM in Central Java” said Devi Pamela as the moderator at once as a Chairman of IMMawati in Central Java.

Newsworthy events : SILATDA IMMawati can be a place to make  good relationship for all of IMMawati in Central Java and place to voice the aspirations of IMMawati.

The Youth Organization Krida Mardi Tama

            The Youth Organization Krida Mardi Tama is an organization which the member is the young in RW 7 in Ketawangrejo village. The purpose of this organization is giving founding to the young, for examples are about economy, organization, sport, skill, religion and culture. Beside that the youth organization also have a purpose to compose spirit and motivation of the young generation to create social prosperity of society.

            As for the activity programs that the youth organization have, such as :

1.      regular society once month,

2.      camping in the beach,

3.      meeting once week,

4.      the committee of wedding party,

5.      the committee of event gasstrack in Ketawang beach, and

6.      make the competitions to celebrate independence day.

The members of the youth generation are about 30 people. The requirement to join this organization is the young have to above 15 years old. The senior members just choose the young people in this village and automatically they are be a member. They will be invited to attend meetings every week. Beside that, there are benefit to join the youth organization, that are like we can learn about organization and understand about social life.

Daendels Road 

 

               Daendels road is a road built on the orders of Dutch Governor Herman Willem Daendels who became the ruler of the Dutch East Indies between 1808 until 1811. Daendels Road stretches along 1000 kilometers follow the northern part of the island of Java and most of it along the coast of Java. Therefore, this path is later known as the pantura road, an acronym from the north coast (pantai utara). The road connects the western end of the island of Java on the coast of Anyer to almost the eastern tip of Java island in Panarukan, Situbondo. In every 4.5 kilometers is established a post as a stop-over and liaison shipping letters. The purpose of building Daendels Road is to facilitate communication between areas controlled by Daendels along Java Island and as a bastion of defense on the North Coast of Java Island.

               The location of Daendels road that follow the north coast of Java gives strategic value. Along the path through Daendels street, there are many of large and small ports. Starting international ports such as Tanjung Priok in Jakarta, Tanjung Perak in Surabaya to fishing landing ports of traditional fish in Tuban and Panarukan. In addition, along the street Daendels there are also thousands of large, medium and small factories. Start heavy industries such as Cement and Fertilizer in Gresik, steel factory in Cilegon and Lamongan until small industries terasi in Palang, Tuban. Initially, the road was intended Daendels as the army's mobilization path between Batavia and Surabaya for the defense of Java island from the British attack.

               Daendels pressed local rulers to build or widen existing roads with a target of a few kilometers and within a year the entire trans-Java route had to be completed. If it fails to meet the target, the local rulers and their workers will be killed and their heads hanging on either side of the road being built. As the result, local rulers mobilize their people to work hard without rewards. Thus, many of them are victims of hunger. In addition, malaria attacks also become the second killer after hunger. According to British sources, 12,000 people were recorded dead in that giant project. However , the actual number of victims is believed to be much larger.

The Tadpole

Once upon a time, there was a poor girl living in the decrepit home in the forest. She live with her mother. Her mother always looked for some fishes in the river. The fishes would be sold in the market in the nearby village. The girl always helped her mother to sell it. she walked alone to go to the market. She had to go through the forest and through the rice field to get to the market. The money from the sale of fishes would be used to buy the rice and other necessity. 

One day, when the girl would be bought the rice, she met a hungry old man. The old man asked to the girl to give him some money. The girl felt pity for him. She felt so confused. Then, she dicided to give a half of her money to the old man and the rest she bought the rice. The old man was very grateful. He wanted to give the girl something as a thank you. He only had some of minnows, a tadpole and a spoon. Then, he asked to the girl to choose one of them. The girl chose the tadpole because she thought that the tadpole might not be too valuable to him. After that, the old man said that she had to take care the tadpole.

Till at home, the girl apologized to her mother because the half of the money she given to the hungry old man and he gave me the tadpole instead. Her mother was angry because then she had to look for more fishes in order to buy rice. Her mother also said that the girl was so stupid. The girl felt so sad. Then, she made a puddle to put the tadpole.

Everyday, she always took care the tadpole. Her mother was not angry with her anymore. Until the 16^th week the tadpole had turned into a frog. She had made a little big pool as a home to the frog.

In the morning, when the girl wanted to give the frog food, she saw something glittering in the pool. Then, she picked it up. She thought that it was like a gold but she still didn’t believe it. The girl called her mother to see it. Her mother was shock. Then, they went to the market to make sure that it was gold or not. The gold seller said that it was pure gold. The girl and her mother was so happy. It was mean that they were getting rich now. The girl realized that the gold was egg of the frog. After that, the girl and her mother always took care of the frog. They also helped the people who needed a help. They were always humble and not be an arrogant person.

           

How to Make Dragon Fruit Klepon

Ingrendients :

1.      250 grams of glutinous rice flour

2.      50 grams of rice flour

3.      Dragon fruit juice

4.      Water

5.      Salt

6.      Chocolate bar

7.      Cheese

Steps :

1.      Prepare the ingrendients.

2.      Mix the rice flour, glutinous rice flour, salt, dragon fruit juice, and water. Stir it until smooth.

          

3.      Slice into small pieces of chocolate bar for stuffing.

4.      Take a little dough, then flatten. Give a little chocolate.

5.      Make the dough into a round shape.

6.      Boil water until boiling. Take te balls of klepon into the boiling water. Wait until the balls of klepon float.

7.      After that, grate the cheese. Lift the balls of klepon float and roll it on the grated cheese.

8.      Dragon fruit klepon ready to be served.
