“How to Encourage English Department Students to Speak
English More Often and Confidently”
Thesis:
English is one of the important aspects you must have. Especially
if you are a student in English Department. You have to speak English fluently and
confidently. You can try it with encourage yourself to speak English more often
and confidently.
Argument 1:
Speaking English allows you to actually broaden your world,
from job opportunities to the ability to relate to people from every country. It
can be a value-addes to you when you apply for a job.
Argument 2:
English is an international language, the main language of
this planet. It is the language of our international communication in all
areas, such as politics, science, media or art and it is often the language of
the intertaiment as well as socialising.
Recommendation:
Considering some facts above, let me give you some ways to
encourage English Department Students to speak more often and confidently:
- Start with believing in yourself. Do not be afraid to make a mistake. You can think “if so many people can, even I can”.
- Keep calm and do not worry about grammar. Remember, even those who speak English fluently make grammatical mistakes. But, what they do right, is communicate without worrying about them.
- In the class, the lecturer can make a free discussion at the beginning of lecture in everyday. In that time the students must speak in English.
- The lecturer can give the students an assignment to make conversation in English with their partner in everyday.
- For the lecturer, command the students always use English during lecture.
